2 injured in head-on crash near Worcester

Significant car crashes can lead to injuries or death, impacting multiple lives. Unfortunately, many of these crashes could have been avoided and are only the result of drivers who are not acting safely while behind the wheel.

For example, a recent case on Route 20 involved a head-on crash that took place when a driver of a pickup truck drove into the opposite lane. He went on to strike a Subaru that was headed his direction, leading to the crash near the Worcester line.

The incident, which took place at around 1:30 p.m., resulted in the driver of the Subaru suffering life-threatening injuries. He had to be rushed to UMass Memorial Medical Center for emergency care. The driver of the pickup truck, a 30-year-old man, was also taken to the hospital. There, he was charged with failing to stay within marked lanes and driving to endanger. The worst part is that he’d been cited for speeding just moments before he caused the severe collision.

The police indicated that they would be filing a request to have the man’s license suspended immediately, as he could pose an immediate threat to other drivers.

Situations like this one are a little bit of a shock to think about. Someone who is stopped for speeding generally slows down and starts to be more cautious. Unfortunately, not everyone does. They may continue to drive recklessly and endanger others. Sometimes, doing so leads to collisions like this.

If you are struck by someone who is not being cautious on the roads, you deserve a chance to hold them accountable for their actions. Their behavior is unacceptable and is a threat to themselves and everyone else.
